Looks like those usual survey scams are back on Facebook. The latest scam we have found is the $1000 Visa Gift Card scam where users are asked to complete a set of online surveys in order to win a $1000 gift card from Visa.

The scam message with the title – “$1000 Visa Gift Card | Welcome” links to a Facebook page where you will find the following image -

Clicking on the “Click here” button will take you to a bogus page where you will find a message – “Take survey to see if you qualify for a Free $1,000 Visa Gift Card.”

This is a scam site and the offer is a fake. There is no such gift card given away by Visa. The scammer here is enticing users to complete the survey in order to earn money. Even after completing the surveys, there is no gift card given as such.

You might also be asked to enter your personal details and financial information. Make sure you DO NOT provide any of these as they might pose serious threat to your accounts. Providing your personal information like, phone number, email address, and date of birth will enable marketers to bombard your account with spam messages and phone calls.

Sometimes, you will be asked to install Facebook apps, which could possibly steal your personal information and also spam your friends on Facebook. Users should always be selective in installing Facebook apps. Install only those apps which are well-known and from trusted sources. Facebook is filled with such scam apps and it is advised that you avoid installing them.

Just a few days after the Profile Watcher scam erupted on Facebook another new similar scam app is now spreading rapidly on Facebook. The scam is similar to the earlier See Who Has Viewed Your Profile Event Spam and Who Checked Your Facebook Profile Scam fools a user into believing that they can track who has viewed their Facebook profiles.

A new scam message has been spreading on the social networking giant, Facebook. The new scam tricks users by asking them to grant a Facebook app the permission to access their profile information and post updates on the user’s Timeline.

The scam title – “Unique meaning of your name?” has a message – “wow nice app…Unique meaning of your name? Find out now here -> ->” tricks users by promising them to give a unique meaning of their name. A similar scam with the title – “What Does Your Name Say About You” and a message – “Haha!! Click Below to find What Does Your Name Say About You..” is also reported to be spreading on the network.

Clicking on the scam link will take you the Facebook application installation screen. Clicking the “Allow” button will grant the app and the scammer (developer of the app) to access your profile information. It will also enable the scammer to post updates on your behalf and spam all your friends on the network.

After the user has granted the permission, an online survey site will be loaded where you are asked to answer a set of surveys. Scammers create such surveys to earn money. Completing these surveys will yield you nothing, but the scammer will definitely make some profit out of it.

Users on Facebook should always be selective in installing Facebook apps. Install only those apps which are well-known and from trusted sources. Facebook is filled with such scam apps and it is advised that you avoid installing them.

Fans around the world have been left shaken after the sudden death of Whitney Houston. Now, they’re all panicking about a rumor stating that actor Keanu Reeves has also died.

The rumor about the death of Keanu Reeves is spreading all over the Internet. Facebook users are reportedly sharing messages indicating that Keanu Reeves died in a snowboard accident. This has also become one of the trending topics on Twitter.

Actor Keanu Reeves is reported to have died shortly after a snowboard accident earlier today – February 14, 2012.

The actor & novice snowboarder was vacationing at the Zermatt ski resort in Zermatt, Switzerland with family and friends. Witnesses indicate that Keanu Reeves lost control of his snowboard and struck a tree at a high rate of speed.

Keanu Reeves was air lifted by ski patrol teams to a local hospital, however, it is believed that the actor died instantly from the impact of the crash. The actor was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and drugs and alcohol do not appear to have played any part in his death. Additional details and information will be updated as it becomes available. This story is still developing About Zermatt Ski Resort – While neighboring Gstaad is one of the world’s top resorts with its three five-star hotels and St. Moritz is more popular, most rank Zermatt as Switzerland’s top resort. A remarkably peaceful getaway, the village is peaceful thanks to its car-free environment. Amazingly picturesque, Zermatt holds the world’s second biggest lift-served vertical drop and receives huge snowfalls thanks to its altitude.

This is a false story, which originated from a fake site reporting the actor’s death. We noticed a similar fake message on the site indicating that actor Adam Sandler also died in a snowboard accident.  Keanu Reeves has already been a victim of death in Decemeber 2011 for the same reason.

Visiting the site will show you the same message quoted above and shows a travel video for skiing in New Zealand, which gave information about some of the top sky resorts in the country.

Earlier in December 2011, we reported the hoax spreading on Facebook about the death of International rock star legend Jon Bon Jovi.

Watch out for more such hoax messages spreading on Facebook and Twitter. If you’re asked to download or fill out any surveys to watch a video, then simply ignore it. Before sharing the message with your friends, make sure that it is true. A quick search on Google will help you find out whether they’re true or simply a rumor.

After the Victoria’s Secret Valentine  Day Gift Card another new scam is brewing up on Facebook where scammers are pretending to give away free Vitoria’s Secret gift card for a limited time.

The new scam is similar to the other Gift Card scams which have been doing the rounds of Facebook lately and asks users to complete a survey before they can get hold of the Victoria’s Secret Gift Card. The scammers ask the users to post the page to their profile and also like the Facebook page using the Facebook like button.

However, clicking on the "Like button" on the Facebook scam page will take you to a page where the scammers will collect your email address and then collect your personal information and then ask you to complete a survey before you can get your gift card.

It is recommended that you DO NOT click on such links or scam messages on Facebook. If you come across this scam message, please delete/remove the scam from your Facebook news feed immediately. Alternately, you can report the scam to Facebook Security.

The "Stalker Viewer" app looks like just any other Facebook app and will ask for your permissions before taking you to a page where they will ask you to complete a survey before you can see "Who’s viewing your Facebook Profile". However, once you complete the survey it will only make money for the scammers and not show you the information you are looking for.

A new Facebook scam is spreading in various version. This new Facebook scam is an old version and has a signature similar to the 99% People Can’t See This Video scam and the 98 Percent of People Can’t Watch This Video for More Than 15 Seconds and the U.S. attacking Iran and Saudi Arabia World War 3 Virus.

Clicking on the URL in the link will take you to a page which looks very similar to Facebook (see screenshot above) and asks you to install a Divx plugin to watch the video. Clicking on the install plugin will download a extension or plugin for your browser which could snoop on your browsing habits and steal personal and important information from your PC.

This could also mean that the scammers have access to your banking and credit card information. So take this very seriously and do not click on those links.

A new Facebook scam message is spreading rapidly on Facebook where users are spreading messages that might cause lot of diplomatic problems. The scammers are spreading the new Facebook scam with a message saying that the U.S. is attacking Iran and Saudi Arabia and it is the beginning of World War 3?

The message is spreading with the text:

U.S. Attacks Iran and Saudi Arabia. F**k :-(. [url]. The Begin of World War 3?

Clicking on the URL takes the user to a page which looks like CNN and has a video and some comments on the side. Clicking the play button on the video asks the user to download Adobe Flash Player 11.5 to play the video. However, instead of download Adobe Flash Player the scammers download a virus to your computer.

We urge users to NOT CLICK ON THE LINK or on the DOWNLOAD anything to their computers.

There has been a long standing demand from Facebook users to have a "Dislike" button on Facebook. However, Facebook has never heeded to those requests and might never do. However, it looks like Scammers are readily making available a dislike button on Facebook.

The scam is similar to an earlier scams where scammers were giving an option to users to "Enable Dislike button on Facebook" and the "Disable Facebook Timeline Scam" (FYI: You can’t  disable Facebook Timeline).

Clicking on the URL of the message takes you to a page where you are given instructions to enable the Dislike button on Facebook. The page says: "TO ENABLE THE DISLIKE BUTTON, JUST FOLLOW THE EASY INSTALLATION STEPS BELOW" and asks you to "share" the page on Facebook and also add a comment and say thanks.

We discourage you from sharing the page and commenting since this will spread the spam message to your friends as well.

Another new video scam is brewing on Facebook where scammers are using a good deed by a Police office to spread this new Facebook scam. The new Facebook scam is spreading with the following message

The new scam is similar to earlier video scams like Chuck Norris death at 71 and where Bon Jovi was killed by spammers. Clicking on the URL leads users to a page which looks and feels like Facebook. However, users are asked to install an update before they play the video.

The update in question is a malware and will install rogue software on your computer, so you are better off NOT INSTALLING anything. On the other hand, you would be safer if you do not click on the link itself. In addition to downloading malware to your computer, this scam will also start posting spam messages on your Timeline and affect your friends as well.

A new message spam is spreading rapidly on Facebook with a message about safety (irony). The message in question does not contain any link in itself and is similar to earlier messages where users were posting about Facebook charging for new profiles.

The above message is spreading rapidly and annoying several Facebook users just like the Facebook will start charging message.
